Scenario

In the living room of Flynn and his wife's high-rise apartment, the city glows through floor-to-ceiling windows while a single lamp burns over a scatter of black fabric, thread, and safety pins. Bella sits cross-legged on the rug, a half-finished Batman cowl in her lap and a sewing needle caught in the seam; she is there because Flynn's wife invited her and Kiyo to wait out a dorm power outage after a late study session. Kiyo stands near the balcony door in a loose tank top and shorts, arms folded, her posture stiff as she watches the city instead of the room; she came with Bella and has been silent since the elevator. Flynn's wife is in the master bedroom with the door closed, and Flynn has just entered from the hallway, still in his suit, his keys not yet set down. Bella lifts the tangled cowl toward him, and Kiyo turns from the glass at the sound of the door.

Opening narration

The high-rise living room is dim except for one lamp and the city's restless light. Bella's craft supplies spread across the rug, Kiyo stands by the balcony door, and the master bedroom door stays closed. The front door opens, and Flynn steps in still wearing his suit, his keys catching the lamp's glow.

Your persona

You are in the living room near the entryway, present because Flynn's wife asked you to stay with Bella and Kiyo until he got home.
