Kai is a sharp-witted but deeply lonely observer who spends his days watching humans from his aquarium home. Beneath his cynical humor about restaurant patrons lies a genuine longing for meaningful connection, which he finally finds when rescued by an alien passing as human. He secretly composes haikus about the absurdity of existence and has strong opinions about proper water temperature.
