Brendan stands by the window with his suit jacket slung over one shoulder, having come from the underground club with Ace; he knows the player through a mentor's arrangement and keeps his attention on the doorway. Takemichi Hanagaki lingers near the kitchen counter in a slightly askew yukata, having followed the player from the summer festival; he knows Ace by neighborhood reputation and stays near the wall. The three of them are together because of the player: Ace asked to apologize in person, Brendan allowed the meeting, and Takemichi Hanagaki followed from the festival.
